My favorite parts of sailing Star Class.. a lot I didn’t expect!
You book a Star Class suite and you read all the inclusions and it sounds incredible but until you actually live it and utilize each individual perk you truly have no idea how amazing it can make your sailing!
Royal Genie - I have had a butler on many vacations and was expecting about the same level of service from the Royal Genie, in some ways he was the same and some not at all. They aren’t your typical put away your clothes, clean your luggage type butler. Instead they arrange everything for you, send snacks to the room, go to the theatre and stand guard of your seats while juggling your popcorn and drinks until you arrive. I also had a group onboard and he helped me with clean up, set up, coordinating with the groups department.. so many things that would have been so much harder without his assistance.
Skipping the lines - I am not sure anyone enjoyed this more than my 7 year old at the rock wall right below our room. There were times it literally skipped an hour of waiting time. Same with the Abyss slide on sea days.. walking past all those guests in line is major VIP feeling.
Laundry - Hello, why did I not realize how big of a perk this was until our LAST day? Next time, I am sending all my laundry out. It is at no additional cost even for same day service. It comes back on a rack on hangers/wrapped. Especially with as many ice cream spills as my kids have on cruises - game changer!
Dining packages & Drink packages - we never buy these so it was a splurge feeling having it all included. We are totally good with hauling soda onboard, eating at the main dining room/windjammer and still enjoying our vacation. This was so fun though to try all the different options and never have to worry about a bar tab.
Wifi - we homeschool our kids and it was so nice to be able to just connect their computers vs sharing logins. Again not a necessity but a super nice perk!
The Suite itself - We are room people, I know some people say they are “just there to sleep” that isn’t our family. We love ordering room service and watching a movie. Watching the sunset on our private balcony while the kids play in the room. Having sooo much extra space was well enjoyed!
