My thoughts on Celebrity Cruise Line as a mom of young kids!
It has been a minute since I have been so excited to master a new product! I have gone on all the major cruise lines that depart from the US within the last year or so hoping to find something that would fill the destination piece that Royal/Disney just don’t have. Some I didn’t even post the content of.. because it just wasn’t the vibe that I wanted to promote. I am only going to book you a cruise that I would personally sail myself. That has been my rule from the beginning and I have never strayed from it.
I truly think it has been under my nose the entire time and I am SO excited for it! Oh and my loyal to royal cruisers - Celebrity will status match you! Win Win! Now this isn’t going to be my every cruise (at least until my kids are a lot older) but when we want to go on a different itinerary than the standard 5 or 6 that super family focused cruise lines sail.. you betcha I will be booking us on Celebrity! Can you tell I am excited about this? Let’s dive into my reasons why!
Infinite Balcony Stateroom
The rooms are CLEAN. Yes they are well maintained, but the overall design and storage is unmatched. I also loved the shower and how big the bathroom was. My biggest gripe with Royal is those dang space ship looking bubble showers oh and no 3 in 1 shampoo. This cruise line is basically an elevated Royal Caribbean in my opinion. So no wonder I loved it!
The Magic Carpet - Celebrity Ascent
The different bars/spaces were so great! Different drink menus, vibes and more intimate areas you could sit with just your people instead of feeling like you were in the midst of a crowded cruise ship. Perfect for after a long excursion day!
Kids Club Celebrity Ascent
There is a kids club with set hours, if you want the longest/best kids club at sea - this isn’t it. I will be totally transparent with that. They have STEM activities, great staffing etc but it isn’t going to compare to say Disney Cruise Line. Also keep in mind there is not a nursery
The retreat
Suite class on this brand is called - The Retreat. On these Edge class ships it is a separate area for the specialty dining, lounge and sundeck. I will be going over all those perks and my thoughts on those spaces later on so be sure to follow!
La Petite Chef - Celebrity Ascent
Trying all the food is a must right? How else can I make a fair judgment for you all? ;)
From the deck food - pictured below. The buffet (Oceanview Cafe). Quick service pizza, main dining.. specialty dining it all was fantastic. Lots of options included and of course things to splurge on. Above is la petite chef - it is extra but it was so worth it! If you have never done a dinner mapping - you should! My kiddos would have loved these.
The entertainment was OUTSTANDING. However.. not family friendly in my opinion. Think cirque de sole type shows.
I can’t wait to sail these cruise line again! This was a short 3 nighter to The Bahamas so I didn’t get to experience everything they bring onboard for Europe sailings and other great destinations. Those are where I think these ships are really going to fit into this family cruise portfolio. However - Moms & Dads need some vacation time sans kids and I cannot recommend this cruise line/ship enough. I was quite honestly sad to leave and will definitely be back onboard sooner rather than later!
